Member Services Coordinator
Newton at Home seeks a part-time Member Services Coordinator to support the organization’s continued and expansive growth. This employee will report to the Executive Director and collaborate with three part-time staff and numerous volunteers. This is currently an in-person part-time position of 20 hours/week with the expectation of working five days a week (although there is flexibility around shift length and timing). This is a role that could potentially grow into a full-time position to include other core duties for the right professional.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop strong relationships with members and volunteers through frequent verbal and email communications.
- Handle incoming telephone calls from members & volunteers and respond as appropriate; call members & volunteers as needed to provide updates and solicit inputs.
- Enter member service requests into the NaH online database and ensure that requests are assigned to available volunteers.
- Track long-term volunteer assignments (i.e., friendly visits) and perform occasional check-ins with volunteers.
- Initiate friendly welcome calls to new members.
- Report and document member and volunteer feedback to staff and Executive Director for follow up problem resolution and tracking.
- Keep track of volunteer documentation and ensure information is accurate and up to date.
- Assist the Executive Director with special projects, taking the lead as assigned.
- Implement quality control procedures to ensure best business practices.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure and execute a smooth service model.
- Demonstrate Newton at Home and Village Movement values in all communications.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Outstanding communication and listening skills.
- Comfortable interacting with older adults and vulnerable individuals with the patience to accommodate their needs (prior experience in this field is preferred)
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to grasp and readily recall information/details about members, volunteers, and interpersonal relationships.
- Demonstrated computer competence, comfortable using PCs, familiarity with Google services (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, etc.).
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, members, and volunteers through in-person and hybrid environments.

Our mission is to help older Newton residents remain in their homes with our supportive network of non-medical volunteer services and social programs.
